1. Tom and Shelley Schoewe and their daughters Liz and Allie come to Immanuel from Our Redeemer. The Schoewe family lives in Menomonee Falls and is pleased that Immanuel is close to home. They also enjoy the traditional service format of most worship services. Additionally, they feel welcome at our church: they were already friends with some Immanuel member families, and have since found many other friendly people in our congregation.

Tom is Director of Finance at Quarles & Brady Law Firm. He is also President of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee Board.

Shelley is an administrative assistant at Marquette University. She serves on the board for Lutheran Special Schools.

Tom and Shelley have fun golfing in their spare time. The whole family also enjoys watching sports: they are big Marquette University basketball and Packer fans.

Liz, 18, is on the cross country and track teams at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, where she is a senior. She also plays clarinet in the school band. She anticipates studying nursing at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois, in the fall.

Allie, 15, is a freshman at Milwaukee Lutheran. She runs Varsity cross country and plays soccer.

The Schoewes request prayer for blessings on Liz as she transitions to college, and that God would guide Allie and Liz in their faith.

Please welcome the Schoewe family at the 9:30 service time!

2. Crystal Douyette and her daughter Jadyn, 5, recently joined Immanuel by Profession of Faith. They are excited that Immanuel is close to where they live (just off Hampton in Milwaukee), and Jadyn is looking forward to attending five-year-old kindergarten at Immanuel Lutheran School in fall.

Crystal works in purchasing, customer service, and shipping for an aerospace company. Jadyn is finishing up four-year-old kindergarten in Milwaukee Public Schools.

With summer just around the bend, Crystal and Jadyn are ready to resume their favorite outdoor activities. Crystal loves playing basketball (as a student at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, she was coached by the great Randy Clinard). Crystal and Jadyn also enjoy bike-riding together. Jadyn is especially enthusiastic about swimming in the warm months. Also, with the first sign of spring, Crystal says Jadyn began planning for their annual trip to the Waukesha County Fair, sure to be a highlight of summer.

Please welcome Crystal and Jadyn at the 9:30 service!

3. Paula Trieglaff was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel and is happy to be returning to our congregation.  In the past, Paula worked at Immanuel Lutheran Child Care in its infancy, and she assisted with Vacation Bible School.

Her prayer request to the congregation at this time is for health and safety for her family, which is enjoying a time of expansion. Last October, Paula married Steve Brown of West Bend. From the marriage, Paula also gained a stepdaughter, Katlyn, 10. In addition, the family is expecting a new baby in October.

Paula works at Dennis’ Mobil Mart in Brookfield.

She is a sports enthusiast: volleyball and golf are among her favorite summer activities.

Please welcome this returning member of our congregation at the 8:00 service!

4. Scott, Brooke, and Jack Luebke learned of Immanuel through friends and family. Scott’s mother, Mary, was married at Immanuel. She invited Scott and Brooke to visit Immanuel. The Luebkes are also friends of Matt Schneider  and of Trevor Seider and his family. Scott is a transfer to Immanuel from Pilgrim Lutheran, while Brooke is a transfer from St. Peter Immanuel. Pastor Schneider baptized baby Jack into faith and into our congregation on December 27, 2008.

Scott works for Lakeshore Burial Vaults: he creates vaults for caskets in the ground and seals the vaults after burial services. Brooke is an assistant manager at the Brookfield Ulta store, which specializes in cosmetic and hair products. Jack, 6 months, is busy growing and changing as busy baby boys are apt to do! He attends Immanuel Child Care two days a week, and Brooke says he loves his care-givers there!

The Luebke family enjoys watching movies and spending time with family. This summer, they’re looking forward to going up north to Florence, Wis. for a mini get-away and to visit Scott’s mother and grandparents.

Please welcome this young family to our congregation!

5. Debra Doss joins us from Benediction Lutheran Church. She was attracted to Immanuel because it is located close to her Butler home.

Debra is a retired postal worker with a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. She also loves spending time with her five grandchildren.

Debra enjoys traveling: one of her favorite memories is of snorkeling in Jamaica. When she’s at home, she can often be found dreaming of future trips while watching the Travel Channel. She’s currently considering a trip to Africa to build a hospital there.

Say hello to this friendly newcomer at the 7:00 Monday night service!
